Support for this book came from the Jaffe Center for Book Arts and my time as the Helen M. Salzberg Artist-in-Residence during Fall 2015. In addition, Scott Huler's 2004 book Defining the Wind, helped inspire this project, connecting the scale's history and its evolution from Beaufort's early 19th century to the present day.
