One of ten linen and cotton "pages" with an excerpt about the weather from Anna Howell's diaries hand-embroidered in her handwriting, along with three tiny pieced illustrations referencing the content of the text. The pieced blocks are about one-and-a-half inches square.
Text reads:
1st The weather was dark and gloomy for a short time Between 8 & 9 o clock the Sun unveiled his face, and changed the scene It is cold, but pleasant, winter weather 2nd The weather cool, but seasonable— 3rd This is a very lovely morning The Sun is shining, in great Splendour
