Linen and cotton
11¾ x 10 inches
One of ten linen and cotton "pages" with an excerpt about the weather from Anna Howell's diaries hand-embroidered in her handwriting, along with three tiny pieced illustrations referencing the content of the text. The pieced blocks are about one-and-a-half inches square.
Text reads:
July 29th was the most awful night, as to Thunder lightning, and rain that I ever experienced The elements appeared to be in one continued blaze, which must have lasted 3 or 4 hours, The rain poured in "torrents, and seemed as if it would have swept every thing from off the face of the earth
